Appointment Conduct Policy

A notarial appointment should be relaxed, professional and unencumbered by issues unrelated to the business at hand. I have adopted the following “Code of Conduct” that I abide by and expect from all of my clients during notary appointments. When you request a appointment, you will indicate that you agree to this policy and that you will abide by it during our appointments.

  1. All parties present including the notary, signer, and their guests, regardless of age, agree to conduct themselves in a respectful manner and to abide by the guidelines of this conduct policy.
  2. Conversation by any parties present during a notary appointment should be restricted primarily to matters related to the notarial act being performed.
    • In particular, parties present should refrain from discussing irrelevant or potentially controversial topics such as religion, politics, sports, or even pop-culture.
  3. Clients and their associates are expected to behave appropriately, both out of respect for the venue where the appointment is being conducted, and out of respect for the notary and the notarial process.
    • No foul language should be used at any time during the notary appointment.
    • No disrespectful, derogatory, or inappropriate comments should be made or directed at any of the parties present, the notary performing the service, or the venue, its employees or other patrons.
    • Leave any negative attitudes at home or in the car.
  4. If children must accompany you during the appointment, you are expected see that they are quiet and respectful of the process and the environment in which the notarial act is being performed.
  5. No associates or guests that accompany you to a notary appointment should distract or otherwise engage in the process unless they are a party involved in the notarial act.
  6. Be early! Remember, although you are the “customer,” a service is being provided to you in the notary’s personal and free time. It is far better for you to wait on the notary than to expect the notary to wait on you.

Failure on the part of the client or their associates to follow this code of conduct will result in the termination of the proceedings. If a travel fee was paid, that fee will not be refunded.
